Introduction
Forum submission means taking part in online discussion boards by creating an account, starting topics and replying to other members, with a profile or signature that points back to your business. When it is done by a real person who knows the subject, forums are one of the few places where you can meet customers while they are asking questions.
When it is done as a link exercise, forums punish it quickly. Moderators delete promotional posts and ban accounts. This page lists forums and explains how to take part usefully, and when to leave a community alone.
What Is Forum Submission?
Forum submission is the practice of registering on a forum, building a profile and contributing posts in the relevant sections. A link may appear in your profile, in a signature or, where the rules allow, in a post that answers a question.
Most forum links are nofollow or ugc, and moderators remove many of them, so the direct ranking benefit is small. The real return is visibility: helpful answers build trust, bring referral visitors who are already interested, and show you what customers actually worry about. Posting only to place links is spam under most forum rules and under Google’s spam policies.
How Forum Submission Works
- Find forums where your customers or peers discuss problems your business can speak to.
- Read the rules, pinned posts and recent threads before registering, to see what is allowed.
- Register with a real name or brand name and complete the profile honestly, including a link where permitted.
- Spend time reading and answering questions helpfully before you mention your own business.
- Share a link only when it directly answers the question, and disclose your connection to it.
- Check back for replies, and keep taking part regularly.
How to Choose Quality Forum Sites
Look for forums with recent posts, real replies from different members and active moderation. A forum where every thread is an unanswered advertisement is a spam target, not a community. Topic fit is the key test: would your target customer ever read this section?
Check the rules on promotion, signatures and links, and how new accounts are treated. Some forums require several approved posts before a link is allowed. Third-party PA, DA and spam score estimates are a rough guide only and say nothing about how welcome you will be.
Forum Sites Database
How this list is maintained: each URL is a discussion forum or community that accepts member posts. A URL is shown only after an automated check confirms it is reachable, is not parked and redirects to the same site; the check date is recorded internally. PA, DA and spam score are third-party metrics — they are shown only when taken from a documented source, otherwise as “—”. VKV GROUP does not measure these values itself.
The verified list is being prepared. We only publish a site after it has been checked, so this table is empty until that check is complete.
How to Use the List Responsibly
- Join only the few forums where you can contribute regularly and knowledgeably.
- Never use bots, scripts or paid posting services to register or post.
- Disclose that you work for or own the business when you mention it.
- Follow each forum’s rules on links, signatures and self-promotion, and accept moderator decisions.
- Do not post the same message in several places or revive old threads just to place a link.
- Give more than you take: answer several questions for every time you mention your own site.
Forum Submission Best Practices
- Answer the question fully in the post itself; a link should add detail, not replace the answer.
- Use one consistent username and profile picture so members recognise you.
- Use your profile or signature for a quiet link where the rules permit it, rather than pushing links into posts.
- Take part for months, not days; trust in a community builds slowly.
- Note common questions you see and turn them into useful pages on your own website.
Common Forum Submission Mistakes
- Registering and immediately posting a link with no other activity.
- Using generic replies such as “nice post” or “thanks for sharing” to build post counts.
- Hiding your connection to the business you are recommending.
- Creating several accounts to praise your own site.
- Posting off-topic or in the wrong section, which moderators delete.
- Buying forum posting packages that promise a number of backlinks or rankings.
